A system for limiting access to certain components of a vehicle where the vehicle has a valet mode wherein access to the certain components of the vehicle is limited and a normal mode wherein the certain components are operable. The vehicle has a processor programmed to place the vehicle in the valet mode upon receipt of a first signal and to place the vehicle in the normal mode up receipt of a second signal. Mode changing signals are transmitted to a processor using a remote control and a connector switch removably connected to the remote control, wherein the remote control transmits the first signal when the connector switch is disconnected from the remote control, and wherein the remote control transmits the second signal when the connector switch is reconnected to the remote control. A radio in the vehicle and/or a voice-recognition system can also be used to transmit the mode changing signals to the processor.

Un sistema para limitar el acceso a ciertos componentes de un vehículo donde el vehículo tiene un modo del valet en donde el acceso a los ciertos componentes del vehículo es limitado y un modo normal en donde los ciertos componentes son operables. El vehículo tiene un procesador programado colocar el vehículo en el modo del valet sobre recibo de una primera señal y colocar el vehículo en el modo normal encima del recibo de una segunda señal. Las señales que cambian del modo se transmiten a un procesador usando un mando a distancia y un interruptor del conectador desprendible conectados con el mando a distancia, en donde el mando a distancia transmite la primera señal cuando el interruptor del conectador se desconecta del mando a distancia, y en donde el mando a distancia transmite la segunda señal cuando el interruptor del conectador se vuelve a conectar al mando a distancia. Una radio en el vehículo y/o un sistema del voz-reconocimiento se puede también utilizar para transmitir las señales que cambian del modo al procesador.
