Curable film-forming compositions containing epoxy functional copolymers, polycarboxylic acid crosslinking agents, and triaryltin compound having the chemical structure of (Ar).sub.3 SnOR wherein the aryl groups are the same or different and at least one aryl group is substituted with at least one atom or group selected from the group consisting of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, phosphorous, silicon and halogen and R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, and acyl groups are disclosed. The compositions do not release benzene during cure. The compositions may be powder or liquid and are useful as clear coats, particularly in a color-plus-clear composite coating system.

De geneesbare film-forming samenstellingen die epoxy functionele copolymeren, polycarboxylic zuur bevatten agenten crosslinking, en triaryltinsamenstelling die de chemische structuur van (Ar).sub.3 SnOR waarin de aryl groepen zelfde of verschillend hebben zijn en minstens één aryl groep met minstens één atoom gesubstitueerd wordt of groep die uit de groep wordt geselecteerd die uit koolstof bestaan wordt, stikstof, zuurstof, zwavel, fosforachtig, silicium en halogeen en R uit de groep geselecteerd die uit waterstof, alkyl bestaan, en acyl de groepen worden onthuld. De samenstellingen geven geen benzeen tijdens behandeling vrij. De samenstellingen kunnen poeder of vloeistof zijn en zijn nuttig als duidelijke lagen, in het bijzonder in een kleur-plus-duidelijk samengesteld deklaagsysteem.
