The present invention relates to new benzimidazoles of general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.a to R.sub.c, A, Ar and B are defined as in claim 1, the tautomers, the stereoisomers, the mixtures thereof the prodrugs, the derivatives thereof which contain a group which is negatively charged under physiological conditions, instead of a carboxy group, and the salts thereof, particularly the physiologically acceptable salts thereof with inorganic or organic acids or bases, which have valuable properties. The compounds of the above general formula I wherein R.sub.c denotes a cyano group are valuable intermediates for preparing the other compounds of general formula I, and the compounds of the above general formula I wherein R.sub.c denotes one of the amidino groups mentioned in claim 1 which have valuable pharmacological properties, particularly an antithrombotic activity.

Die anwesende Erfindung bezieht auf neuen Benzimidazolen des allgemeinen Formel ## STR1 ##, worin R.sub.a zu R.sub.c, A, Ar und B als in Anspruch 1, die tautomers, die Stereoisomere, die Mischungen davon die Prodrugs, die Ableitungen davon definiert werden, die eine Gruppe enthalten, die negativ unter physiologischen Bedingungen, anstelle von einer carboxy Gruppe und die Salze davon, besonders die physiologisch annehmbaren Salze davon mit den anorganischen oder organischen Säuren oder den Unterseiten aufgeladen wird, die wertvolle Eigenschaften haben. Die Mittel der oben genannten allgemeinen Formel I, worin R.sub.c eine Cyanogruppe bezeichnet, sind wertvolle Vermittler für das Vorbereiten der anderen Mittel allgemeiner Formel I und die Mittel der oben genannten allgemeinen Formel I, worin R.sub.c eine der amidino Gruppen bezeichnet, die in Anspruch 1 erwähnt werden, die wertvolle pharmakologische Eigenschaften haben, besonders eine antithrombotische Tätigkeit.
