Provided are novel benzothiepines, derivatives, and analogs thereof; pharmaceutical compositions containing them; and methods of using these compounds and compositions in medicine, particularly in the prophylaxis and treatment of hyperlipidemic conditions such as those associated with atherosclerosis or hypercholesterolemia, in mammals. Also provided are compositions and methods for combination therapy employing ileal bile acid transport inhibitors and EG Co-A reductase inhibitors for the treatment of hyperlipidemic conditions.

Υπό τον όρο ότι είναι νέα benzothiepines, παράγωγα, και ανάλογα επ' αυτού φαρμακευτικές συνθέσεις που περιέχουν τις και οι μέθοδοι αυτές τις ενώσεις και συνθέσεις στην ιατρική, ιδιαίτερα στην προφύλαξη και την επεξεργασία των hyperlipidemic όρων όπως εκείνοι σύνδεσαν με atherosclerosis ή την υπερχοληστερολεμία, στα θηλαστικά. Επίσης υπό τον όρο ότι είναι συνθέσεις και μέθοδοι για τη θεραπεία συνδυασμού χρησιμοποιώντας τους ileal ανασταλτικούς παράγοντες μεταφορών χολών όξινους και Π.Χ. reductase κοβάλτιο-α ανασταλτικοί παράγοντες για τη θεραπεία των hyperlipidemic όρων.
