The present invention relates to the use of small organic compounds acting as opioid receptor ligands for the treatment of vasomotor disturbances. In particular the present invention relates to the use of triaza-spiro compounds of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, z and n are defined in the specification, for the treatment of migraine, non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (type II diabetes), sepsis, inflammation, incontinence and/or vasomotor disturbances, in particular the peripheral vasomotor effects known as hot flushes or hot flashes.

Die anwesende Erfindung bezieht auf dem Gebrauch der kleinen organischen Mittel, die als opioid Empfänger ligands für die Behandlung der vasomotorischen Störungen dienen. Insbesondere bezieht die anwesende Erfindung auf dem Gebrauch der triaza-spiro Mittel von Formel ## STR1 ##, worin R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, z und n in der Spezifikation, für die Behandlung der Migräne, Nichtinsulin des abhängigen Diabetes mellitus (Art II Diabetes), des sepsis, der Entzündung, des incontinence und/oder der vasomotorischen Störungen, insbesondere der vasomotorischen periphereffekte, die als heißes Erröten bekannt sind oder der heißen Blitze definiert werden.
