A document organizing system extracts annotations made to a document along with the context surrounding each annotation and organizes the annotations based upon the annotation attributes and/or context. The annotations are created by grouping marks based upon their proximity in time and space. The document is segmented to determine a minimum context associated with each annotation. A list of the annotations sorted by the attributes are then displayed to the user. The context provided by the invention for each annotation allows the user to fully understand the annotation.

Een document dat systeem organiseert haalt annotaties die aan een document samen met de context worden gemaakt die elke annotatie omringt en organiseert de annotaties die op de de annotatieattributen en/of context worden gebaseerd. De annotaties worden door tekens gecreeerd te groeperen die op hun nabijheid in tijd en ruimte worden gebaseerd. Het document is gesegmenteerd om een minimumcontext te bepalen verbonden aan elke annotatie. Een lijst van de annotaties die door de attributen worden gesorteerd wordt dan getoond aan de gebruiker. De context die door de uitvinding voor elke annotatie wordt verstrekt staat de gebruiker toe om de annotatie volledig te begrijpen.
