Dibenzonaphthyrone of formula (I) ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 independently of each other are unsubstituted or mono- to tetra-substituted o-C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 arylene, with the proviso that formula (I) does not represent a dibenzonaphthyrone of the formula ##STR2## ##STR3## ##STR4## The invention further relates to processes for the preparation thereof, to the use thereof for colouring/pigmenting high-molecular-weight organic material and to substance compositions comprising dibenzonaphthyrones.

Dibenzonaphthyrone del ## del ## STR1 di formula (i) in cui A.sub.1 ed A.sub.2 da a vicenda sono indipendentemente non sostituiti o mono a o-C.sub.6 tetra-sostituito - il arylene C.sub.18, a condizione che la formula (i) non rappresenti un dibenzonaphthyrone del ## del ## STR4 del ## del ## STR3 del ## del ## STR2 di formula l'invenzione più ulteriormente si riferisce ai procedimenti per la preparazione di ciò, all'uso di ciò per il materiale organico ad elevato peso molecolare di colouring/pigmenting ed alle composizioni nella sostanza che contengono i dibenzonaphthyrones.
