Olefin polymerization is performed in the presence of a catalyst comprising a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein M is a Group 3-10 transition metal; A is O, S, N--R", or P--R"; L is an anionic ligand; X is hydride, halide, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkoxy, siloxy, hydrocarbyl, or dialkylamido; R, R', and R", which are the same or different, are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 hydrocarbyl; and m+n equals the valency of M minus 1; and an activator.

La polimerización del olefin se realiza en la presencia de un catalizador que abarca un compuesto del ## del ## STR1 del fórmula en donde M es un metal de la transición del grupo 3-10; A es O, S, N--R ", o banda"; L es un ligand aniónico; X es hidruro, halide, C.sub.1 - C.sub.20 alkoxy, siloxy, hydrocarbyl, o dialkylamido; R, R ', y R ", que son el iguales o diferentes, se seleccionan del hidrógeno y del C.sub.1 que consisten en - del grupo hydrocarbyl C.sub.20; y m+n iguala la valencia de M menos 1; y un activador.
