The present invention relates to a new IL-6 mutein, a DNA sequence coding for it, its use in therapy as well as a pharmaceutical composition comprising it. It is a potent IL-6 antagonist and can be advantageously used as a medicament in the treatment of diseases in which IL-6 has a pathogenetic action, such as, for example, plasmocytoma/myeloma, osteoporosis and neoplastic and auotoimmune diseases.

La presente invenzione riguarda un nuovo IL-6 mutein, una codificazione per esso, il relativo uso di sequenza del DNA nella terapia così come una composizione farmaceutica che la contiene. È un antagonista potente IL-6 e può essere usato vantaggiosamente come medicamento nel trattamento delle malattie in cui IL-6 ha un'azione pathogenetic, come, per esempio, plasmocytoma/myeloma, il osteoporosis e malattie del auotoimmune e neoplastici.
