A satellite (30) programmed for sun-nadir steering and having a solar wing (36) mounted to the satellite body (35) and being selectively moveable about two mutually orthogonal axes (A, B). The solar wing (36) is mounted to the satellite body (35) by a pair of gimbals (43, 45) thus allowing two degrees of freedom and thereby permitting the solar wing (36) to be rotated about the two mutually orthogonal axes (A, B). A first motor (42) in operative engagement with the gimbal (43) selectively rotates the solar wing about the axis (A), while a second motor (46) in operative engagement with the gimbal (45) selectively rotates the solar wing about the second axis (B). A control circuit (40) is in operative engagement with the first and second motors and selectively causes the first motor to rotate the solar wing about the first axis to a predetermined position, and selectively causes the second motor to rotate the solar wing about the second axis to a predetermined position.

Um (30) satellite programado para o sol-sun-nadir que dirige e que tem uma asa solar (36) montada ao corpo satellite (35) e que é seletivamente móvel aproximadamente dois machados mutuamente orthogonal (A, B). A asa solar (36) é montada ao corpo satellite (35) por um par dos gimbals (43, 45) permitindo assim dois graus de liberdade e permitindo desse modo a asa solar (36) ser girado sobre os dois machados mutuamente orthogonal (A, B). Um primeiro motor (42) no acoplamento operativo com o gimbal (43) gira seletivamente a asa solar sobre a linha central (a), quando um segundo motor (46) no acoplamento operativo com o gimbal (45) girar seletivamente a asa solar sobre a segunda linha central (b). Um circuito de controle (40) está no acoplamento operativo com os primeiros e segundos motores e faz com seletivamente o primeiro motor gire a asa solar sobre a primeira linha central a uma posição predeterminada, e faz com seletivamente que o segundo motor gire a asa solar sobre a segunda linha central a uma posição predeterminada.
