This invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding a SCLB.sup.R protein. The invention also relates to the construction of a chimeric gene encoding all or a portion of the SCLB.sup.R protein, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric gene results in production of altered levels of the SCLB.sup.R protein in a transformed host cell.

Cette invention concerne un fragment d'isolement d'acide nucléique codant une protéine de SCLB.sup.R. L'invention se relie également à la construction d'un gène chimérique codant toute l'ou une partie protéine de SCLB.sup.R, dans le sens ou l'orientation d'antisense, où l'expression du gène chimérique a comme conséquence la production des niveaux changés de la protéine de SCLB.sup.R dans une cellule hôte transformée.
