A low profile quick release assembly for securing and releasing a backpack frame to and from a waist belt which comprises a catch assembly adapted to be secured to the waist belt and a hook assembly adapted to be secured to the backpack frame. The catch assembly has laterally opposed guide surfaces extending downwardly and terminating in a retaining notch, at least one catch surface and a pivot radius formed in the retaining notch. The hook assembly comprises a front surface, a hook and at least one flexible finger having a catch surface formed in the hook assembly. The hook is spaced apart from the front surface to define therewith locating surfaces which terminate in a retaining radius. When the catch assembly and the hook assembly are engaged, the retaining radius seats on the pivot radius in contacting engagement and the catch surface engages the catch slot. The assembly disengages when the rearward angle of the backpack exceeds a predetermined angle with reference to vertical.

Un mécanisme de dégagement rapide de profil bas pour fixer et libérer une armature de baluchon à et d'une ceinture de taille qui comporte un crochet s'est adapté pour être fixé à la ceinture de taille et à un crochet adaptés pour être fixé à l'armature de baluchon. Le crochet s'est latéralement opposé à des surfaces de guide se prolongeant de haut en bas et se terminant en entaille de retenue, au moins une surface de crochet et rayon de pivot formé dans l'entaille de retenue. Le crochet comporte une surface avant, un crochet et au moins un doigt flexible faisant former une surface de crochet dans le crochet. Le crochet est espacé indépendamment de la surface avant pour définir localiser en conséquence les surfaces qui se terminent en rayon de retenue. Quand le crochet et le crochet sont engagés, les sièges de retenue de rayon sur le rayon de pivot dans l'enclenchement entrant en contact et la surface de crochet engage la fente de crochet. L'assemblée désengage quand l'angle arrière du baluchon excède un angle prédéterminé concernant la verticale.
