A process for the treatment of aqueous waste streams having a pH of 5 to 11 and containing organoboron compounds of the formula R.sub.4 B.sup.-1 M.sup.+ with hydrogen peroxide in order to convert such organoboron compounds to boric acid and organic compounds.
