The present invention is directed to peptidomimetic macrocyclic compounds of the formula A: ##STR1## wherein W is a heterocycle, V is a heterocycle or aryl moiety and Z.sup.1 is a suitably substituted aryl or heterocycle moiety. The instant compounds inhibit prenyl-protein transferase and the prenylation of the oncogene protein Ras. The invention is further directed to chemotherapeutic compositions containing the compounds of this invention and methods for inhibiting prenyl-protein transferase and the prenylation of the oncogene protein Ras.

La présente invention est dirigée vers les composés macrocyclic peptidomimetic du formula A : ## du ## STR1 où W est un heterocycle, V est un heterocycle ou la partie d'aryle et le Z.sup.1 est une partie convenablement substituée d'aryle ou de heterocycle. Les composés instantanés empêchent la transférase de prenyl-protéine et le prenylation de la protéine Ras d'oncogene. L'invention plus plus loin est dirigée vers les compositions chimiothérapeutiques contenant les composés de ces invention et méthodes pour empêcher la transférase de prenyl-protéine et le prenylation de la protéine Ras d'oncogene.
