The present invention relates to a stable water-in-oil emulsion for
cosmetic, pharmaceutical or hygiene use, comprising an aqueous phase and a
fatty phase comprising a silicone oil, characterized in that it comprises
an emulsifying system comprising at least one .alpha.,.omega.-substituted
oxyalkylenated silicone of formula (I):

in which: R=--(CH.sub.2).sub.p O--(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.x (C.sub.3
H.sub.6 O).sub.y R.sup.1
where:
R.sup.1 represents H, CH.sub.3 or CH.sub.2 CH.sub.3,
p is an integer ranging from 1 to 5, x ranges from 1 to 100 and y ranges
from 1 to 50,
it being possible for the units (C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O) and (C.sub.3 H.sub.6 O)
to be distributed randomly or in blocks,
the R.sup.2 radicals represent a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl radical or a phenyl
radical,
5.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.300,
and a co-surfactant chosen from the family of glycol mono- and/or diesters
and glyceryl mono-, di- and/or triesters, and mixtures thereof. The
invention also relates to a composition comprising the above emulsion, and
to its applications in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, dermatological or
hygiene fields.
