Tall oil pitch may be reacted with a phenol-containing organic compound and formaldehyde or reactive equivalent thereof to prepare a resin. The reactants may further include polyhydric organic compound, .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxyl compound or ester thereof, and hydroxyl-containing non-phenolic organic compound. The resin may be formulated with a colorant to provide an ink for lithographic, gravure or letterpress printing.

Hoher Öltaktabstand kann mit einem Phenol-enthaltenen organischen Mittel und ein Formaldehyd oder ein reagierendes Äquivalent davon reagiert werden, um ein Harz vorzubereiten. Die Reaktionsmittel können organisches Polywasserstoffmittel, alpha..beta.-unsaturated Karboxyl- Mittel oder Ester davon weiter mit einschließen, und nicht-phenoplastisches organisches Mittel Hydroxyl-enthalten. Das Harz kann mit einem Farbstoff formuliert werden, um eine Tinte für lithographisches, Gravüre oder den Briefbeschwererdruck zur Verfügung zu stellen.
