The garment further includes a landing zone having a plurality of fibrous loops located at least partially in the second waist region and adapted to engage with the surface protrusions of the first region to provide a closure mechanism for holding the first region and the second region in an overlapping configuration. In addition, the integrally-formed surface protrusions can be provided on the inner surface of the garment contacting the skin of the wearer to provide a frictional force between the surface protrusions and the skin of the wearer to provide the garment with desired functional characteristics when in use by the wearer.
