Apparatus for measuring the distance between a mobile station and a base station in a mobile radio-communications system, the apparatus including a device for determining the reception instant at which the mobile station receives predetermined data transmitted by the base station, the circuit including a correlator for correlating an in-phase component and a quadrature component of a modulated signal received by the mobile station respectively with an in-phase component and a quadrature component of a reference signal generated in the mobile station and corresponding to the predetermined data, correlator delivering real components and imaginary components of correlation coefficients, and the apparatus being characterized in that it further includes a processor for using the real components and the imaginary components of the correlation coefficients to determine a complex magnitude whose phase varies continuously as a function of the reception instant.

Apparat für das Messen des Abstandes zwischen einer beweglichen Station und einer niedrigen Station in einem beweglichen Funkverbindungsystem, dem Apparat einschließlich eine Vorrichtung für die Bestimmung, an dem des Aufnahmeaugenblicks die bewegliche Station vorbestimmte die Daten empfängt, die durch die niedrige Station, der Stromkreis einschließlich ein correlator für das Aufeinander beziehen eines in-phase Bestandteils und des Quadraturbestandteils eines modulierten Signals übertragen werden, das durch die bewegliche Station beziehungsweise mit einem in-phase Bestandteil und einem Quadraturbestandteil eines Bezugssignals empfangen wird, das in der beweglichen Station erzeugt wird und das Entsprechen den vorbestimmten Daten, dem correlator, das reale Bestandteile und eingebildete Bestandteile der Korrelationskoeffizienten und dem Apparat dadurch gekennzeichnet wird, daß es, liefern weiter einen Prozessor für das Verwenden der realen Bestandteile miteinschließt und die eingebildeten Bestandteile der Korrelationskoeffizienten, zum einer komplizierten Größe festzustellen deren Phase ununterbrochen als Funktion des Aufnahmeaugenblicks schwankt.
