A transponder-based distributed power train control system using a plurality of transponders located between the track rails or along the track wayside for setting the control functions, for example the brake or throttle controls of the remote power units in a train. Each remote power unit includes a transponder reader and the transponder return signal provides a pointer into a look-up table. The look-up table value represents the control setting for the remote power unit for the read transponder.

Un sistema di controllo distribuito risponditore-basato dell'apparato propulsore usando una pluralità di risponditori situati fra le rotaie della pista o lungo il wayside della pista per la regolazione delle funzioni di controllo, i comandi di valvola a farfalla o per esempio del freno delle unità morici a distanza in un treno. Ogni unità motrice a distanza include un lettore del risponditore ed il segnale di ritorno del risponditore fornisce un indicatore in una tabella di look-up. Il valore della tabella di look-up rappresenta il controllo che si regola per l'unità motrice a distanza per il risponditore colto.
