Laundry detergents and cleaners which, in addition to a peroxide compound, comprise a compound of the formula (R.sup.1 R.sup.1)N--X--N(R.sup.1 R.sup.1) (I) or metal complexes thereof, where X and R.sup.1 have the meanings listed in the description, are claimed.
