The present invention relates to a tire having a rubber tread of a lug and groove configuration and which may be of a co-extruded cap/base construction; wherein at least a part of the visible portion of the tread is exclusive of carbon black and thereby of a color other than black. Such non-black colored rubber includes the outer surface of at least one of said tread lugs intended to be ground-contacting. In one aspect of the invention, said non-black colored rubber composition contains (A) a precipitated silica reinforcement which has been pre-treated with a hydrophobation agent and optionally also pre-treated with a coupling agent or (B) a precipitated silica which has been pre-treated with a hydrophobating agent and a coupling agent which does not from an alcohol byproduct upon reacting with hydroxyl groups (e.g. silanol groups) contained on the surface of said precipitated silica. In another aspect of the invention, said non-black colored rubber composition is comprised of at least one diene based elastomer and a brominated poly(isobutylene-co-para-methylstyrene) where a coupling agent for said silica is an organo phosphite.

La présente invention concerne un pneu ayant une bande de roulement en caoutchouc d'une configuration de crochet et de cannelure et qui peut être d'une construction Co-expulsée de cap/base ; où au moins une partie de la partie évidente de la bande de roulement est exclusive du noir de charbon et de ce fait d'une couleur autre que le noir. Un tel caoutchouc coloré non-noir inclut la surface externe au moins d'un de lesdits crochets de bande de roulement prévus terre-mettre en contact. Dans un aspect de l'invention, ladite composition en caoutchouc colorée non-noire contient (a) un renfort précipité de silice qui a été traité préalablement avec un agent de hydrophobation et également sur option traité préalablement avec un agent d'accouplement ou (b) une silice précipitée qui a été traitée préalablement avec un agent hydrophobating et un agent d'accouplement qui pas d'un sous-produit d'alcool en réagissant avec des groupes d'hydroxyle (par exemple groupes de silanol) contenus sur la surface de ladite silice précipitée. Dans un autre aspect de l'invention, ladite composition en caoutchouc colorée non-noire est composée au moins d'un élastomère basé par diène et d'un poly(isobutylene-Co-Para.-methylstyrene) bromé où un agent d'accouplement pour ladite silice est un phosphite d'organo.
