The present invention relates to the novel GABA.sub.B receptor subtypes GABA.sub.B -R1c and GABA.sub.B -R2 as well as to a novel, functional GABA.sub.B receptor which comprises a heterodimer of GABA.sub.B -R1 and GABA.sub.B -R2 receptor subunits. The present invention also relates to variants of the receptors, nucleotide sequences encoding the receptors and variants thereof and novel vectors, stable cell lines, antibodies, screening methods, methods of treatment and methods of receptor production.

De onderhavige uitvinding heeft op de nieuwe GABA.sub.B receptorsubtypes GABA.sub.B - R1c en GABA.sub.B - R2 evenals op een nieuwe, functionele receptor GABA.sub.B betrekking die uit een heterodimer van GABA.sub.B - R1 en GABA.sub.B - R2 receptorsubeenheden bestaat. De onderhavige uitvinding heeft ook op varianten van de receptoren, nucleotideopeenvolgingen coderend de receptoren en de varianten daarvan en de nieuwe vectoren, stabiele cellijnen, antilichamen, onderzoeksmethodes, methodes van behandeling en methodes van receptorproductie betrekking.
