The invention relates to a non-dusting, homogeneous pigment preparation, comprising .gtoreq.40% by weight of one or more effect pigments, 0.5-60% by weight of a polyalkylene glycol and/or one or more polyalkylene glycol derivatives, 0-10% by weight of a redispersing auxiliary, 0-40% by weight of water or an organic solvent or solvent mixture, 0-40% by weight of at least one further hydroxyl-rich resin, and to its use as a precursor for printing inks.
