A layer of foam plastic is placed in the bottom of the concrete container before placing the resin therein to provide for expansion and contraction of the resin, as well as for insulation from cold, dampness, and the like, while a threshold or border is positionable along a top portion of the container and resin to prevent damage during lawn mowing activities and the like. In another embodiment, a mold constructed of fiberglass is used to form the hardenable resin with decorative items therein after which the hardened resin block is removed from the mold and placed into a ground cavity with a block of rigid foam plastic being placed in the bottom of the ground cavity. A threshold is attached to the block of hardened resin material and anchor members secure the block in place. Flowers, war medals, baby shoes, crosses, photos, and other objects may be embedded in the resin for both aesthetic appearance and in memory of a deceased person.
