Benzamidine derivatives of formula (I) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof exhibit excellent inhibitory activity against factor Xa and are useful for treating or preventing blood coagulation disorders: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group or a hydroxyl group; R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group, R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an optionally substituted alkanoyl group or an optionally substituted alkylsulfonyl group, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are the same as or different from each other and each represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a carboxyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or an optionally substituted carbamoyl group, and R.sup.6 represents a substituted pyrrolidine group or substituted piperidine group.

Les dérivés de Benzamidine de la formule (i) ou pharmaceutiquement les sels acceptables en montrent l'excellente activité inhibitrice contre le facteur Xa et sont utiles pour traiter ou empêcher des désordres de coagulation de sang : ## du ## STR1 où R.sup.1 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe alcoyle ou un groupe d'hydroxyle ; R.sup.2 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène ou un groupe alcoyle, R.sup.3 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe alcoyle sur option substitué, un groupe d'aralkyl, un groupe sur option substitué d'alkanoyl ou un groupe d'alkylsulfonyl, un R.sup.4 et un R.sup.5 sur option substitués sont le même qu'ou différents de l'un l'autre et de chacun représentez un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe alcoyle sur option substitué, un groupe alkoxy, un groupe carboxylique, un groupe d'alkoxycarbonyl ou un groupe sur option substitué de carbamoyl, et R.sup.6 représente un groupe substitué de pyrrolidine ou a substitué le groupe de pipéridine.
