Urinary incontinence is alleviated in a mammal by administering to the mammal a urinary incontinence alleviating amount of dextromethorphan, dextrorphan, their mixtures and/or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, alone or in combination with a pharmacologically active agent such as an anticholinergic, sympathomimetic, tricyclic antidepressant, antispasmodic, direct-acting smooth muscle relaxant, estrogen, compound having estrogen-like activity, or any combination of the foregoing.

L'incontinence urinaire est allégée dans un mammifère en administrant au mammifère une incontinence urinaire allégeant la quantité de dextromethorphan, de dextrorphan, de leurs mélanges et/ou pharmaceutiquement de sels acceptables, seulement ou en combination avec un agent pharmacologiquement actif tel qu'un antidépresseur anticholinergique, sympathomimétique, tricycique, un décontractant lisse antispasmodique et à action directe de muscle, un oestrogène, un composé ayant oestrogène-comme l'activité, ou n'importe quelle combinaison de l'antérieur.
