A process for inhibiting gel formation of a tablet-form detergent
composition upon hydration, the process involving: (a) providing a
detergent composition containing a surfactant component selected from the
group consisting of an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, and
mixtures thereof; (b) providing an anti-gelling agent selected from the
group consisting of an alkyl polyglycoside, a polymeric surfactant, an
alkyl sulfate, and mixtures thereof; and (c) mixing the surfactant with
the anti-gelling prior to introducing the tablet-form detergent
composition into water.
