The present invention relates to a denture adhesive composition comprising mixed salts of an alkyl vinyl ether-maleic acid or anhydride copolymer and/or terpolymer with isobutylene wherein the mixed salt contains a cationic salt function comprising at least about 22.5% calcium cations, from about 15% to about 25% of zinc cations, of the total initial carboxyl groups reacted, the mixed salt containing from about 36% to about 50% free acid component. In addition the present invention relates to denture adhesive compositions comprising the above composition and at least one non-adhesive self-supporting layer. The present invention further relates to a method of increasing the adhesion of dentures to the oral cavity by applying the above compositions to dentures, directly to the oral cavity, palate or ridge of the oral cavity, or applying it to both, and thereafter securing the denture to the ridge or palate of the oral cavity.

Die anwesende Erfindung bezieht auf einem anhaftenden Aufbau des Gebisses, der Mischsalze von einer AlkylvinylÄther-bösartigen Säure oder ein Anhydridcopolymer und/oder -terpolymer mit Isobutylen enthält, worin das Mischsalz eine kationische Salzfunktion enthält, die mindestens ungefähr 22.5% Kalziumkationen enthält, von ungefähr 15% bis ungefähr 25% von Zinkkationen, der Gesamtkarboxyl- zuerstgruppen, die, das Mischsalz reagiert werden, das von ungefähr 36% ungefähr 50% zum freien sauren Bestandteil enthält. Zusätzlich bezieht die anwesende Erfindung auf dem anhaftenden Aufbau des Gebisses, der den oben genannten Aufbau und mindestens eine Nichtkleber selbsttragende Schicht enthält. Die anwesende Erfindung, die weiter ist, bezieht auf einer Methode der Erhöhung der Adhäsion der Gebisse auf die Mundhöhle, indem sie den oben genannten Aufbau auf Gebisse, direkt an der Mundhöhle, am Gaumen oder an der Kante der Mundhöhle oder des Anwendens sie an beiden, und das Gebiß an die Kante oder an den Gaumen der Mundhöhle danach befestigen zutrifft.
