The present invention is directed to methods for the prevention or inhibition of angiogenesis. The method is accomplished by the administration of an effective amount of 15-epi-16-(para-fluoro)-phenoxy-lipoxin A.sub.4, LXA.sub.4, 15-epi-LXA.sub.4 or 15-R/S-methyl, LXA.sub.4 and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, esters, amides, carboxylic acids, or prodrugs thereof, to a subject in need thereof. As a consequence of the action of the therapeutic agent, angiogenesis is prevented or inhibited in the subject.

La presente invenzione è diretta verso i metodi per la prevenzione o l'inibizione di angiogenesis. Il metodo è compiuto tramite la gestione di una quantità efficace di 15-epi-16-(para-fluoro)-fenossi-lipoxin A.sub.4, LXA.sub.4, 15-epi-LXA.sub.4 o 15-R/S-methyl, LXA.sub.4 e farmaceuticamente sali accettabili, esteri, ammidi, acidi carbossilici, o prodrugs di ciò, ad un oggetto nel bisogno di ciò. In conseguenza dell'azione dell'agente terapeutico, il angiogenesis è evitato o inibito nell'oggetto.
