A method and a circuit arrangement for controlling the operating point of a
cathode ray tube (3) for use in image technology applications. A video
signal (1) is supplied to both the tube (3) and to a cathode ray tube
model (2), which the model (2) uses to emulate a beam current. From the
emulated beam current and a measured beam current, a characteristic
quantity for adjusting the operating point is determined.
