Piperidine/piperazine-type inhibitors of p38 kinase
   
   

Certain compounds which contain a piperidine moiety flanked by aryl groups are inhibitors of p38-.alpha. kinase and thus useful in the treatment of a variety of conditions characterized by inappropriate p38-.alpha. kinase activity.
