The invention relates to a bandage or wound dressing fabricated from a
natural or synthetic film-forming material, such as a hydrophobic
polymeric membrane, incorporating a therapeutically effective amount of
one or more therapeutically active (e.g. anti-microbial) compounds,
including Triclosan, within the matrix thereof. The incorporation of
Triclosan provides continuous inherent control of the growth of a broad
range of microorganisms, which promotes better wound care management and
wound healing.
