Methylene dithiepane silanes according to Formula I

in which R.sup.1 is a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic or alicyclic
hydrocarbon radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, which can be interrupted by
one or more oxygen and/or sulphur atoms and can contain one or more ester,
carbonyl, amide and/or urethane groups, or is an aromatic or
heteroaromatic hydrocarbon radical with 6 to 18 carbon atoms, the
hydrocarbon radicals being able to be substituted or unsubstituted;
R.sup.2 has one of the meanings given for R.sup.1 or is absent; R.sup.3
has one of the meanings given for R.sup.1 or is absent; R.sup.4 is equal
to --(CHR.sup.6).sub.n --, --Y--CO--NH--(CHR.sup.6).sub.n --,
--Y--CO--NH--R.sup.5 --, --(CHR.sup.6).sub.n --S--R.sup.5 --, --S--R.sup.5
--, --CO--O--R.sup.5 -- or is absent, with n being equal to 1 to 4,
R.sup.6 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.10 alkyl or C.sub.6 to C.sub.10
aryl, R.sup.5 has one of the meanings given for R.sup.1 and Y stands for
an O or S atom or is absent; with R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 being able to be
substituted or unsubstituted; X is a hydrolyzable group; a, b, c and x
each independently of each other being 1, 2 or 3; and the sum of a+x=2 to
4. The silanes are particularly suitable for the preparation of dental
materials.
I silani del dithiepane del metilene secondo il ## del ## STR1 di formula I in cui R.sup.1 è saturata o radicale di idrocarburo alifatico o alicilico insaturo con 1 - 10 atomi di carbonio, che possono essere interrotti dagli uno o più atomi dello zolfo e/o dell'ossigeno e possono contenere uno o più l'estere, il carbonilico, l'ammide e/o l'uretano raggruppa, o è un radicale di idrocarburo aromatico o heteroaromatic con 6 - 18 atomi di carbonio, i radicali di idrocarburo che possono essere sostituiti o non sostituiti; R.sup.2 ha uno dei significati dati per R.sup.1 o è assente; R.sup.3 ha uno dei significati dati per R.sup.1 o è assente; R.sup.4 è uguale -- (CHR.sup.6).sub.n --. -- a Y -- CO -- il NH -- (CHR.sup.6).sub.n --. -- Y -- CO -- NH -- R.sup.5 --. -- (CHR.sup.6).sub.n -- S -- R.sup.5 --. -- S -- R.sup.5 --. -- CO -- O -- R.sup.5 -- o è assente, con n che è uguale a 1 - 4, R.sup.6 è idrogeno, C.sub.1 ad alchile C.sub.10 o C.sub.6 all'arile C.sub.10, R.sup.5 ha uno dei significati dati per R.sup.1 e Y corrisponde ad un atomo di S o della O o è assente; con R.sup.5 e R.sup.6 che possono essere sostituito o non sostituito; X è un gruppo hydrolyzable; a, b, c e x ciascuno indipendentemente da a vicenda che è 1, 2 o 3; e la somma di a+x=2 a 4. i silani è particolarmente adatta a preparazione dei materiali dentali.
