The aqueous hair fixing gel has special rheological properties so that it
can be dispensed from a container without dripping or becoming stringy. It
contains from 1.5 to 10 percent by weight of at least one itaconic acid
monoester/acrylate copolymer and from 0.1 to 15 percent by weight of at
least one non-ionic, anionic, zwitterionic or amphoteric hair-fixing
polymer. The itaconic acid monoester has a formula
CH.sub.2.dbd.C(COOR.sup.1)CH.sub.2 COOR.sup.2, wherein one of R.sup.1 and
R.sup.2 represents hydrogen and the other represents --(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2
O).sub.x --R.sup.3, x is between 1 to 100 and R.sup.3 is an alkyl group
having 8 to 30 carbon atoms. The aqueous hair treatment gel has a pH of
greater than 7 and a viscosity of preferably from 2000 to 50,000 mPa.s, as
measured at 25.degree. C. The gel is formulated so that there is a gel
viscosity maximum as a function of shear rate with increasing shear rate,
preferably between 0.1 to 5.0 s.sup.-1.
El gel que fija del pelo acuoso tiene características rheological especiales tan que puede ser dispensado de un envase sin el goteo o de llegar a ser fibroso. Contiene a partir 1.5 a 10 por ciento en peso de por lo menos un copolímero itacónico del ácido monoester/acrylate y a partir 0.1 a 15 por ciento en peso de por lo menos un polímero pelo-que fija no iónico, aniónico, zwitterionic o amphoteric. El monoester ácido itacónico tiene un fórmula CH.sub.2.dbd.C(COOR.sup.1)CH.sub.2 COOR.sup.2, en donde uno de R.sup.1 y de R.sup.2 representa el hidrógeno y el otro representa -- (CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.x -- R.sup.3, x está entre 1 a 100 y R.sup.3 es un grupo alkyl que tiene 8 a 30 átomos de carbón. El gel acuoso del tratamiento del pelo tiene un pH de mayor de 7 y una viscosidad preferiblemente a partir de 2000 a 50.000 mPa.s, conforme a medición 25.degree. C. El gel se formula de modo que haya un máximo de la viscosidad del gel en función de tarifa del esquileo con el aumento de tarifa del esquileo, preferiblemente entre 0.1 a 5.0 s.sup.-1.
