The object of the invention is an additive for paper making by means of
which the dusting tendency of paper can be reduced. The agent is based on
starch, the molecular size of which has been reduced, and which has been
cationized to a charge of less than 1.5 meq/g with a quaternary nitrogen
compound. The agent is added to the fiber pulp for paper making prior to
web formation.
