An over-the-road trailer for an over-width object, such as an ocean-going
speedboat, is made up of a cradle on which the object is seated, a wheeled
frame, carrying the cradle, and a device for moving the cradle relative to
the frame from a generally horizontal position to a position at an angle
to the frame sufficient to make the effective width of the object within
legal limits for over-the-road travel. The moving device includes a
lifting arm mounted on a pivot pin at one end on the frame and pivotally
connected at another end to the cradle. A hydraulic cylinder and piston
are mounted on the frame and connected to the lifting arm. A track,
mounted on the frame, has a ramp part on the side of the frame opposite
the pivot pin, and a linear section tending slightly upwardly in a
direction towards the pivot pin. An arm on the cradle has, at its outer
end, a wheel that runs in the track and moves in a direction toward the
pivot in response to the raising of the cradle by the lifting arm.
Ein über-d-Straße Anhänger für einen über-Breite Gegenstand, wie ein ocean-going speedboat, besteht eine Aufnahmevorrichtung, auf denen der Gegenstand setzt, einen fahrbaren Rahmen und trägt die Aufnahmevorrichtung und eine Vorrichtung für die Aufnahmevorrichtung im Verhältnis zu dem Rahmen von einer im Allgemeinen horizontalen Position auf eine Position auf den Rahmen schräg verschieben, der genügend ist, die wirkungsvolle Breite vom Gegenstand innerhalb der zugelassenen Begrenzungen für über-d-Straße Spielraum zu bilden. Ein Hydrozylinder und ein Kolben werden am Rahmen angebracht und angeschlossen an den anhebenden Arm. Eine Schiene, angebracht am Rahmen, hat ein Rampe Teil auf der Seite des Rahmens gegenüber von dem Drehzapfen und einen linearen Abschnitt, der etwas aufwärts in einer Richtung in Richtung zum Drehzapfen neigt. Ein Arm auf der Aufnahmevorrichtung hat, an seinem äußeren Ende, ein Rad, das Durchläufe in der Schiene und Bewegungen in einer Richtung in Richtung zum Gelenk in Erwiderung auf das Anheben der Aufnahmevorrichtung durch den anhebenden Arm.
