Covalently-bound, hydrophilic copolymer coatings for implants are
disclosed. The copolymer coatings comprise a hydrophobic aryl acrylic
monomer, a hydrophilic monomer selected from the group consisting of
hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylates, n-vinyl pyrrolidone and acrylamides, and a
reactive plasticizer.
