A fire retardant building material composed of a mixture of water and
cellulose fibers, both of which can be comprised of readily available
materials at the job site, such as the available water supply or natural
water and scrap shredded paper, including newspaper or other discarded
paper or cardboard materials. The water and cellulose fiber is mixed to
form a slurry and calcium hydroxide, alumina, salt and ammonia are added.
Pigments and aggregates may be added for appearance.
