A novel fatty polypropoxylate ester which is an ester of an aliphatic or an
aromatic monoacid formed by reacting the acid with a stoichiometric excess
of a polypropoxylated fatty alcohol. The compounds have the following
structural formula:

wherein R.sub.1 is a polypropoxylated fatty alcohol having the structural
formula:

wherein R.sub.5 is a saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted
aliphatic or aromatic moiety containing from 4 to 24 carbon atoms, and x
is an integer from 3 to 30; and
wherein R has the structural formula:

wherein R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently selected from the
group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl or isopropyl; or
##STR4##
wherein R.sub.6 is H or OH or NH.sub.2 or methyl or ethyl.
The compounds possess exceptional pigment dispersant and esthetic emollient
properties for use in personal care and topical pharmaceutical
preparations, e.g., lipsticks, cream foundations, waterproof sunscreens,
sunscreen lotions.

Les composés ont la formule structurale suivante : ## du ## STR1 où R.sub.1 est a polypropoxylated l'alcool gras ayant la formule structurale : ## du ## STR2 où R.sub.5 est saturée ou la partie aliphatique ou aromatique insaturée, substituée ou non substituée contenant de 4 à 24 atomes de carbone, et x est un nombre entier de 3 à 30 ; et où R a la formule structurale : ## du ## STR3 où R.sub.2, R.sub.3 et R.sub.4 sont indépendamment choisis dans le groupe de méthyle, d'éthyle, de propylique ou isopropyle ; ou ## du ## STR4 où R.sub.6 est H ou l'OH ou NH.sub.2 ou méthyle ou éthyle. Les composés possèdent le dispersant exceptionnel de colorant et les propriétés esthétiques d'émollient pour l'usage dans le soin personnel et les préparations pharmaceutiques topiques, par exemple, rouges à lèvres, bases crèmes, protections solaires imperméables à l'eau, lotions de protection solaire.
