The invention relates to the genetic modification of plants particularly to
the expression of P-glycoprotein genes in transformed plants. Nucleotide
sequences for Dw3 genes encoding a P-glycoprotein of sorghum, and method
for their use are provided. The sequences fine use in modifying the growth
of plants. Additionally, the invention provides methods for producing
stable dwarf crop plants, particularly stable dwarf sorghum plants.
L'invenzione riguarda la modifica genetica delle piante specialmente all'espressione dei geni della P-glicoproteina in piante trasformate. Le sequenze del nucleotide per i geni Dw3 che mettono una P-glicoproteina in codice di sorgo ed il metodo per il loro uso sono forniti. Le sequenze multano l'uso nella modificazione dello sviluppo delle piante. Ulteriormente, l'invenzione fornisce i metodi per produrre le piante coltivate nane stabili, specialmente piante nane stabili del sorgo.
