A compound represented by the following formula (I) or (II):

wherein, in the formula (I), R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4
independently represent methyl group or ethyl group; and in the formula
(II), R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, and R.sup.8 independently represent
methyl group or ethyl group and X.sup.- represents an anion, and a reagent
for measurement of nitric oxide which comprises said compound.
Un compuesto representado por el fórmula siguiente (i) o (ii): ## del ## STR1 en donde, en el fórmula (i), R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, y R.sup.4 representan independientemente el grupo metílico o el grupo del etilo; y en el fórmula (ii), R.sup.5, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, y R.sup.8 representan independientemente el grupo metílico del grupo o del etilo y X.sup. - representa un anión, y un reactivo para la medida del óxido nítrico que abarca el compuesto dicho.
