A melanin synthesis inhibitor composition containing at least one
macrocyclic compound represented by Formula (1)

wherein X is a group selected among the groups consisting of C.dbd.O;
CH--OH and O.dbd.C--CHOH; R being a chain hydrocarbon having 13 to 24
carbon atoms, R forms a ring with X and may be saturated or contain 1 to 3
unsaturated bonds and may be substituted by a lower alkyl group of 1 to 3
carbon atoms.
Une composition en inhibiteur de synthèse de mélanine contenant au moins un composé macrocyclic a représenté par le ## du ## STR1 de Formula (1) où X est un groupe choisi parmi les groupes se composant de C.dbd.O ; Ch -- l'OH et O.dbd.C -- CHOH ; R étant un hydrocarbure à chaînes ayant 13 à 24 atomes de carbone, R forme un anneau avec X et peut être saturé ou contenir 1 à 3 obligations insaturées et peut être substitué par un groupe alcoyle inférieur de 1 à 3 atomes de carbone.
