Methods of killing neoplastic cells are provided. The invention relates to
the use of folylpolyglutamyl synthetase (FPGS) gene transfer to enhance
the sensitivity of several types of tumor cells to polyglutamylatable
antifolate drugs, such as methotrexate (MTX) and edatrexate (EDX).
