A humidifier for use with a breathable gas supply apparatus includes a
hollow body adapted for partial filling with water to a predetermined
maximum water level, a gas inlet to the body above the maximum water level
and a gas outlet from the body above the maximum water level. The
humidifier further includes a constant temperature heating element for
heating the water and/or an adjustable flow divider adapted to divide the
interior of the body above the maximum water level into a relatively dry
gas region and a relatively wet gas region. The position of the divider is
variable so as to vary the relative proportion of the gas flowing from the
inlet to the outlet that passes through the relatively dry and relatively
wet gas regions to thereby vary the amount of humidification thereof.
Ein Befeuchter für Gebrauch mit einem breathable Gas-Versorgungsmaterial-Apparat schließt einen hohlen Körper ein, der für teilweise Füllung mit Wasser einem vorbestimmten maximalen Wasserniveau, einem Gaseingang dem Körper über dem maximalen Wasserniveau und einem Gasanschluß vom Körper über dem maximalen Wasserniveau angepaßt wird. Der Befeuchter, der weiter ist, schließt ein konstantes Temperaturheizelement für das Heizen des Wassers und/oder des justierbaren Mengenteilers ein, die angepaßt werden, um das Inneren des Körpers über dem maximalen Wasserniveau in eine verhältnismäßig trockene Gasregion und in eine verhältnismäßig nasse Gasregion zu teilen. Die Position des Teilers ist variabel, um den relativen Anteil dem Gas zu verändern, das vom Eingang zum Anschluß fließt, der Durchläufe durch die verhältnismäßig trockenen und verhältnismäßig nassen Gasregionen, zum der Menge der Befeuchtung davon dadurch zu verändern.
