An organic EL element, wherein a material comprising an arylaminozethrene
compound represented by the following general formula is used as the
material of a light emitting layer:

wherein at least one of R1 to R14 is an arylamino group of the formula
--NRR' or --NR.sub.2 (R represents a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic
group having a single aromatic ring or a condensed aromatic ring with up
to five rings, and R' represents H, halogen, --OH, --OCH.sub.3, or an
alkyl group), and others represent H, halogen, --OH, --OCH.sub.3, alkyl,
or an aforementioned substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group.
Un elemento orgánico del EL, en donde un material que abarca un compuesto del arylaminozethrene representado por el fórmula general siguiente se utiliza como el material de una capa que emite ligera: ## del ## STR1 en donde por lo menos uno de R1 a R14 es un grupo del arylamino del fórmula -- nrr ' o -- NR.sub.2 (R representa a grupo aromático substituido o sin sustituir que tiene un solo anillo aromático o un anillo aromático condensado con hasta cinco anillos, y R ' representa H, el halógeno, --OH, -- OCH.sub.3, o un grupo alkyl), y otros representa H, halógeno, --OH, -- OCH.sub.3, alkyl, o un grupo aromático substituido o sin sustituir ya mencionado.
