An industrial fabric used in the form of an endless fabric belt to form and
convey a nonwoven fiber web during the manufacture of a nonwoven fabric
has a web-supporting surface which includes rough-surface yarns which
inhibit movement, namely, slippage, of the nonwoven fiber web relative to
the web-supporting surface. Preferably, the rough-surface yarns make long
floats in one or both directions, that is, lengthwise and/or crosswise, on
the web-supporting surface.
