A decompression system for a four-cycle engine includes a decompression
shaft positioned within a camshaft. The decompression shaft interacts with
decompression pins positioned within pin holes formed in the camshaft. In
some embodiments, the decompression shaft is formed from a first
longitudinal portion and a second longitudinal portion. In other
embodiments, the decompression shaft is supported at least in part by a
middle portion of a bore that extends through the camshaft.
