A catalyst for selective hydrogenation of alkynes and dienes, its preparation process and application. The catalyst has an inorganic oxide support, a major active component palladium, and a Group IB metal promoter. The active components are uniformly distributed in the catalyst body within the thickness between the support surface and the depth of more than 300 .mu.m. The catalyst of the present invention has high activity, high selectivity, ability to resist sulfur and arsenic poisoning. The catalyst is particularly applicable to C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 fraction with any concentrations of hydrogen and CO.

Un catalizador para la hidrogenación selectiva de alkynes y dienes, su proceso de la preparación y uso. El catalizador tiene una ayuda inorgánica del óxido, un paladio importante del componente activo, y un promotor del metal del grupo IB. Los componentes activos se distribuyen uniformemente en el cuerpo del catalizador dentro del grueso entre la superficie de la ayuda y la profundidad más del mu.m de 300. El catalizador de la actual invención tiene alta actividad, alta selectividad, capacidad de resistir el sulfuro y el envenenamiento del arsénico.
