A medical information communication system and corresponding methods are
described. The system permits monitoring the performance of an implantable
medical device (IMD) implanted within a body of a patient, monitoring the
health of the patient, or remotely delivering a therapy to the patient
through the IMD. The IMD is capable of bi-directional communication with a
communication module, a mobile telephone and/or a Personal Data Assistant
(PDA) located outside the patient's body. The system may comprise the IMD,
the communication module and/or a mobile telephone and/or a PDA, a remote
computer system, and a communication system capable of bi-directional
communication, where the communication module, the mobile telephone and/or
the PDA are capable of receiving information from the IMD or relaying
information thereto.
Een medisch informatie communicatie systeem en overeenkomstige methodes worden beschreven. De systeemvergunningen die de prestaties van een inplanteerbaar medisch hulpmiddel (IMD) controleren dat binnen een lichaam dat van een patiënt wordt geïnplanteerd, de gezondheid van de patiënt controleert, of ver een therapie levert aan de patiënt door IMD. IMD is geschikt voor tweerichtingscommunicatie met een communicatie module, een mobiele telefoon en/of een Medewerker van Persoonsgegevens (PDA) die buiten het lichaam van de patiënt wordt gevestigd. Het systeem kan uit IMD, uit de communicatie module en/of uit een mobiele telefoon en/of uit een PDA, uit een ver computersysteem, en uit een communicatie systeem bestaan geschikt voor tweerichtingsmededeling, waar de communicatie module, de mobiele telefoon en/of PDA om informatie van IMD kunnen daaraan te ontvangen of informatie aflossen.
