A method is disclosed for strengthening a paper or textile article. The
method involves (a) applying to the article a solution of an amorphous
fluoropolymer in a perfluoroalkane solvent; and (b) drying the article.
Also disclosed are strengthened paper and textile articles which include a
fibrous paper or textile substrate, and amorphous fluoropolymer
interconnecting fibers of the substrate.
Une méthode est révélée pour renforcer un article de papier ou de textile. La méthode implique (a) appliquant à l'article une solution d'un fluoropolymer amorphe dans un dissolvant de perfluoroalkane ; et (b) séchant l'article. En outre révélés sont des articles renforcés de papier et de textile qui incluent un substrat fibreux d'article ou de textile, et le fluoropolymer amorphe reliant ensemble des fibres du substrat.
